Volume : We want to see if there has been any significant increase in volume backing the underdog . A sharp increase in volume could be an indication that something has changed and that there is now genuine support for the team doing well against convention .

Trend : We want to see if there has been any recent change in trend for either team . Taking our example again , if Manchester United had been on a poor run leading up to their clash with Burnley then we may consider betting on Burnley as they may be due for an upset victory . Sentimental Analysis : Finally , we want to consider any additional factors which may be relevant such as injuries , home field advantage etc . In our example , if Manchester United had several key players out injured then we may lean towards betting on Burnley even more strongly as their chances of winning would improve significantly
